Plastic Paint » Krylon Fusion For Plastic Paint

Paint + Field Goal = One Cheap and Fun Birthday Party

    What you will need:

  • Krylon Paint - Athletic Field Striping Paint

  • Cones

  • 4 pieces of Wood (various lengths 1 long, 1 medium, and 2 short)

  • Megaphone or whistle

  • Three AA batteries

  • A football

  • Purell Hand Sanitizer

This is a great, and cheap, way to entertain a group of boys (ages 7 and up) for a birthday party. Truly, you will be surprised at how a little effort will allow you to sit back and relax on the big day because they will entertain themselves.

First you will need to purchase some wood in order to construct your field goal. All you need is a hammer, some nails, and the four pieces of wood. We are all aware of what a field goal looks like, so it really isn't hard to make a simplistic version of this.

Next you may want to purchase some traffic cones that you can set up all along the field, so the boys (and girls) can run an obstacle or make a race while going between the cones. The winner receives a prize of some kind.

If you want to add a special touch (and depending on the season), you can buy some Krylon paint that is specifically for athletic fields. Spray paint your yard, or plot of grass, to resemble a football field. The kids can take turns kicking a "field goal" through your constructed structure. Whoever kicks the furthest should win a prize.

If you want to add something funny, or a way to try and distract the kids, a megaphone can be a lot of fun. If you have a megaphone, don't forget the batteries.

While the kids are busy playing you can set up different activities for them to play. Some ideas would be to take a camera (again, don't forget the batteries) and take an individual action shot of each player. You can glue the picture to an index card and make them your thank you notes. You can also have the kids sign an extra football for a souvenir for the birthday boy/girl.

When the day is over, don't forget the sanitizer....who knows how many germs have been spread during a day of fun!
